Healthy Mind and Healthy Weight
Food Is Medicine
We develop food insecurities and use the food as comfort. The answer to losing weight is different for everyone which is why it can be so difficult to succeed on your own.
Most weight loss programs do not include mental health therapy and lack proper education about essential nutrients we need in our diets to eat well and be well.
My weight loss therapy offers improvements in weight-related areas of physical function through behavioral modification and improvement in self-esteem.
I imagine you, like many, have struggled to lose weight with just diet and exercise, but nothing seems to be working. I believe that our diets should focus on the consumption of certain nutrient-packed foods—those filled with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, fiber, pro and prebiotics, and protein while cutting way back on nutritionally “empty” foods (sugar).
The truth is that the average carb-heavy diet is making us feel sad. Try to fill your shopping cart with some color! Next time you go to the grocery store buy avocados, pistachios, sunflower seeds, bright pink wild salmon, perky bunches of curly kale, walnuts, arugula salad, shiitake mushrooms, fresh spinach, lemons and blackberries and you might find some happiness.
If you want to face challenges regarding weight, give me a call today. You deserve a healthier and happier you for years to come using long-term, proven strategies that will benefit you and your families.
The Food is Medicine after all.
